Dr. Cole Kourgelis graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. After graduation, he completed a rotating equine internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center building knowledge in internal medicine, surgery, sports medicine, reproduction, emergency medicine and primary care. Following internship, Dr. Kourgelis returned to Minnesota to practice as an associate equine veterinarian at Stillwater Equine Veterinary Clinic where he continued to care for all types of horses and disciplines in an ambulatory and hospital setting. His veterinary medicine interests include general practice, lameness, and emergency care.
Dr. Kourgelis was first introduced to horses at a young age by volunteering at a therapeutic riding center close to his home in Northern New Jersey. He eventually began working for their equine veterinarian and has pursued a career in equine veterinary medicine since. In his free time, Dr. Kourgelis enjoys spending time outdoors doing activities with his fiancé Dr. Booth and their three dogs: Luigi, Lola, and Posey. He also enjoys fishing, playing guitar and relaxing with his cat Bernice.
