Part Time Barn Assistant

Do you enjoy working with horses and take pride in keeping a barn running at its best? We are looking for a dependable Weekend Barn Assistant to join our team.  This position is essential to the daily care of our hospitalized patients and the upkeep of our equine hospital. Every stall you clean, every horse you feed, and every task you complete helps provide exceptional care to our patients and supports the entire veterinary team.  Whether you're looking to build experience in the equine industry or simply love working with horses, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Feed, water, and provide daily husbandry for resident horses
  • Clean and bed stalls to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
  • Turn horses in and out as directed
  • Observe horses throughout the day and communicate any changes in health or behavior to the veterinary team
  • Follow hospital cleaning and disinfection protocols, including isolation procedures when needed
  • Pick paddocks and help maintain turnout areas
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, including mowing, weeding, painting, replacing fence boards, and other beautification projects
  • Operate equipment such as tractors and manure wagons (training provided as appropriate)
  • Help maintain barn equipment and assist with other projects that keep our hospital operating smoothly

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience handling horses
  • Confident working safely around horses of various sizes and temperaments
  • Dependable, hardworking, and willing to work outdoors in all seasons
  • Someone who notices the little things and takes pride in keeping a clean, organized facility
  • A positive team player who is always willing to lend a hand
  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning stalls, pushing wheelbarrows, and working on your feet throughout the shift

Part Time Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, detail-oriented person with strong analytical skills to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. This is a part-time position and will work closely with the Accounting Manager on various bookkeeping and accounting tasks such as:

  • Record and match bank deposits, check postings, and ACH drafts
  • Log and match credit card receipts and charges
  • Enter invoices/bills and prepare check payments
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts and credit card statements
  • Input data into spreadsheets and file sales tax returns and paid invoices.

The ideal candidate will have experience using QuickBooks (QB Online preferred) and Microsoft Excel, along with a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles in a small- to medium-sized business environment. They will also be selfmotivated, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality.  The work schedule will o?er flexibility within the range of 10 to 20 hours per week during business hours, with no weekends or holidays. The hourly rate is negotiable and will be
