Ambulatory Veterinary Assistant - Fredericksburg Area
Are you passionate about horses and interested in veterinary medicine? We’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid horse handling experience and strong communication skills who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Position Overview:
- Assist equine veterinarian during farm calls
- Typical hours: Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience handling horses and a solid foundation in equine care
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs
- Professional, reliable, and eager to learn

Licensed Veterinary Technician
We’re excited to announce an opening for a Licensed Veterinary Technician on our team. If you're passionate about working with horses and eager to bring your technical skills to a team that values collaboration and exceptional care, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with surgeons to manage hospitalized and referral cases, ensuring optimal patient care.
- Perform anesthesia for both elective and emergency surgical cases. (On the job training provided)
- Handle and restrain horses safely and effectively during treatments.
- Administer medications, perform diagnostics, and support veterinarians with treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of treatments.
- Provide support during emergency calls, working alongside veterinarians in critical situations.
- Communicate professionally with clients, offering clear instructions and information about patient care.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician or eligible for licensure in the state of Virginia
- Experience working with horses (not necessarily in a veterinary setting) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
