Dr. Booth is originally from Clearwater Florida and grew up with warmbloods and riding hunter/jumpers. This is what led her to attended Sweet Briar for her undergraduate work. She then went on to attend The Ohio State for veterinary school. After completing veterinary school, Dr. Booth did her first internship at Comstock Equine in Reno Nevada. After that internship she wasn’t sure how she wanted to proceed in her career as an equine veterinarian, so she started a sports medicine internship at University of Minnesota. This then turned into a surgical internship and three year surgical residency. Dr. Booth loves emergency surgery, wound care, lameness and upper airway surgery. After 5 years of surgical training she is excited to finally get to come back to the East Coast! (She doesn’t recommend the Minnesota winters to anyone.)
Dr. Booth is engaged to marry Dr. Kourgelis in May 2024. They have the three dogs Posey (lab), Luigi (Italian Spinone) and Lola(GSP). They love to hike with their dogs and take them swimming. They also love eating out and spending time with their family and friends. They are hoping to add some draft horses and standardbred horses to their family in the coming years.
