Hello! My name is Mallan Willis and I am one of Woodside’s new interns! I am a recent graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and focused my studies on equine medicine. Ever since I was a child, animals were my FAVORITE! I was the kid who stopped and petted every single dog on a walk with my family. To be honest, that still happens daily. At last, my parents signed me up for riding lessons at a local barn and I fell in love with horses. Over the years, I was exposed to the different aspects of equine medicine and I just could not learn enough. I majored in animal science at the University of Maryland – College Park and my desire expanded to include food animal medicine. I am so excited to be following my dreams and practicing veterinary medicine at last!
In my free time, I love riding my 2 horses – Princess (a Golden American Saddlebred) and Sassy (a Belgian). I enjoy running with my dog Zoe and continuing her therapy dog training. I am an avid musician and loved marching with the Mighty Sound of Maryland in college. Today, I play classical music when I have the time. I love spending time with my fiancé and exploring life’s adventures together.

Hey, Virginia! My name is Hillary Brown and I am a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. I grew up in Knoxville, TN riding, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, and acquiring a passion for the care of horses. I attended Maryville College a small liberal arts college in Maryville, TN where I was able to pursue my passion of riding horses on the Maryville College Equestrian Team. I always knew I wanted to work with horses and when I got into vet school at UT, I was ecstatic! I learned so much in vet school, but knew that when I got out, I would want to pursue an internship in equine medicine. I was very fortunate to get the position at Woodside Equine Clinic, a place I had visited during my senior year of vet school and absolutely loved! When I’m not busy trying to learn the ways of equine practitioners, I love to go running and hiking with my dog Bruce, spending time with my boyfriend, Kyle, and my horse, Oscar.
I am so excited for this year at Woodside Equine Clinic! I know that Mallan and I will learn to be excellent equine veterinarians and have a lot of fun on the way! I brought my dog, Bruce, and my cat Bunny, along with me. They are very excited too, and already loving their new friend, Zoe!
