Starting this month the interns are hitting the road after hours. While we have already been on the road over the last three months, those appointments and emergencies were seen alongside the other veterinarians at Woodside. Now it is officially time for us to take the emergency calls on our own and apply all of the knowledge and technical skills we have acquired. A back-up veterinarian is always just a call away for advice and assistance on the farm. We are excited to take the wheel of “Black … [Read more...]
Hello from Dr. Beringer and Dr. Vogel
Hi, My name is Lexi Beringer and I just graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. I focused my studies on equine medicine. Before vet school, I attended Virginia Tech where I received my Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Animal & Poultry Science. My goal as an intern is to develop my skills as an equine practitioner and determine if I want to pursue a residency or go into ambulatory practice. I grew up on the York River in Yorktown, VA. Most summers, I … [Read more...]

Happy Holidays from the Interns!
We are 6 months into our internship and have learned so much! I recently traveled to San Antonio, Texas for the National AAEP Convention. In between exploring The Alamo and strolling along the Riverwalk, I attended very informative talks on laminitis, ophthalmology, endocrine diseases, dentistry, and more! There was a great Woodside … [Read more...]
Dr. Snead and Dr. Ludwick hit the road
You might be seeing more of us soon because starting this month we are taking taking calls on the road after hours! For the past 3 months we have been seeing cases alongside the Woodside doctors. They have guided us through colics, lamenesses, lacerations, and more. Now it is time for us to spread our wings and get in the driver’s seat of our beloved intern truck “Black Beauty.” This is a momentous step for us, where we can put all of our accrued knowledge and well-practiced technical skills to … [Read more...]
Hello from Dr. Ludwick and Dr. Snead!
Hi there! My name is Rachelle Ludwick and I’m a recent graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. I’ve known I wanted to be a veterinarian since I was 8 years old. I grew up on Long Island, NY where I had a menagerie of pets. My favorite time of year was when we got to visit my family in California every summer when I could hit the trails on their Tennessee Walkers and Paso Finos. I completed my undergraduate studies at Harvard University in Massachusetts where … [Read more...]
