Leslie Betterton, LVT
Operations Manager
Leslie grew up in Ashland, Virginia and received her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in 2003. In 2012, she graduated with her degree in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College. Leslie joined Woodside in November of 2012. She has spent her entire life around horses and owns 2, as well as a dog named Daisy. When she isn’t working, Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband Dave and sons Riley and Wyatt.
Wendy Hirsch, LVT
Veterinary Technician Specialist –
Large Animal Anesthesia
Wendy grew up in Northern VA and graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 1994. Wendy has worked at multiple equine referral practices in California and Virginia. She also worked at Oregon State University and UC Davis where she completed requirements for the veterinary technician specialty certification in Large Animal Anesthesia in 2008. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family.
Sara (Adcock) Brazier, LVT
Patient Care & PR Manager
Sara grew up in Richmond, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences. While there, she worked with the Virginia Tech Sporthorse Breeding Program. After graduation, she returned to Richmond and started her career in veterinary medicine working at a small animal emergency and specialty hospital. Sara completed her Veterinary Technology degree in 2016 and joined the Woodside team later that year. When not at work, she enjoys exploring outside with her husband Matt and their dog Polliwog.
Ashlee Mays, LVT
Ashlee grew up in Chesterfield, VA and graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences in 2021. Shortly following graduation, she moved to Harrisonburg to attend Blue Ridge Community College where she received her degree in Veterinary Technology in May, 2023. She has grown up riding horses and competing in hunter/jumpers. Ashlee realized her love for equine medicine while working for another referral hospital as an assistant while attending Blue Ridge. She has two pets, a border collie mix named Guinness and a cat named Violet. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, her pets, and being outside.
